Mango Lassi

Mango Lassi is a yogurt-based mango drink, popular in India, especially in summers. Mango is such a fruit that is loved by everyone. Ripe mango pulp mixed with fresh yogurt or curd makes the best Mango Lassi.

When the summer is at the corner we cannot wait to have a cooling glass of Mango Lassi. It is a power-packed cooling drink to beat the summer.

Lassi is a classic yogurt drink, available in quite a number of variations. Some like sweet Lassi whereas some prefer it to be salty.

Mango Lassi is one of the most popular variations of Lassi which everybody is obsessed with. It is super yummy and requires a minimum number of ingredients.

Since lassi is churned out of thick yogurt or curd, it is a rich source of Calcium. Hence making our bones stronger.

Lassi is a healthy and natural remedy for stomach bloating. It contains healthy bacteria which helps in preventing constipation and other stomach problems as well.

Packed with nutrients and antioxidants, Mangoes help in boosting immunity. Also, it helps in improving digestive health.

Tips :

  • Use fresh cubed or frozen mangoes for this recipe.
  • The mangoes should be ripe enough. Otherwise, you have to compromise on the taste.
  • If you’re using ripe and juicy mangoes, which are sweet enough. Avoid using too much sugar. Enjoy the natural sweetness of the Mango Lassi.
  • I would not recommend storing the lassi in the refrigerator to be used later on.  In that case, the taste might deteriorate.
  • If there’s a health concern, just replace sugar with Honey. You can simply avoid sugar also. Since the mangoes itself comes up with enough sweetness, I personally do not prefer adding many artificial sweeteners in the lassi.
  • You can add chopped dry fruits such as Raisins, Cherries to enhance the taste of this recipe.

Ingredients:

  1. Fresh diced or cubed Mangoes – 300gm
  2. Yogurt or curd – 200gm
  3. Sugar  2-3 tablespoon
  4. 1 cup Milk
  5. Few mint leaves or some dry fruits (for garnishing)

Mango Lassi Recipe:

  1. Take around 300 ripe mangoes. Wash those properly and peel them.
  2. Cut the mangoes in cube shape or small pieces.
  3. Now put the chopped mangoes in the blender.
  4. Add full-fat yogurt along with some milk.
  5. Add sugar and blend the mixture very well.
  6. Check if some more milk is needed to adjust the consistency. You can add ice cubes (if you want) at this stage.
  7. Blend the mixture again so that the yogurt mixture becomes smooth.
  8. Pour the Mango Lassi in glasses and garnish with some mint leaves.
