Pudina Chutney, Mint Chutney, Pudine ki Chutney

Pudina chutney (commonly known as ‘Pudine ki chutney‘) or Mint chutney is a delicious spicy condiment (chutney) of the Indian subcontinent. This green chutney is an excellent combination of refreshment, deliciousness, and spiciness.

Mint leaves are very refreshing, cool, aromatic with a number of health benefits. It plays a very important role in digestion. Mint leaves are anti-allergic.

One must include this chutney in his/her diet chart.

Pudina chutney is mainly made with Mint or Pudina leaves. You can also combine coriander leaves to get a unique taste.

It is usually served as a side dish with starters like Kebabs, Tikka, Barbeques, different type of pakoras, momos and many more.

If you ask me, I’ll suggest Moong dal ke pakore along with some Pudine ki chutney. This is the best combination ever.

I have shared below a very basic yet tasty chutney recipe. Beginners can easily give it a try.

However, you can add or combine coriander/ green chilly/ dry red chilly/ mustard or any other option as per your choice.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Mint leaves or Pudina
  • 1-2 Green Chilly
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry roasted Cumin powder (Jeera powder)
  • Sugar and Salt as per taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • 1-2 tablespoon water or as needed

How to prepare Pudina Chutney:

  1. Pluck the Mint (Pudina) leaves from the stem. Rinse them well in water.
  2. Take a blender. Add the mint leaves, chopped green chilies, sugar, salt, and water.
  3. Blend all the ingredients very nicely until the mixture becomes smooth.
  4. Add some more water in between if required. And then blend again.
  5. Finally, add some dry roasted cumin powder.
  6. Add the lemon juice for that extra tangy flavor.
  7. Pudina Chutney is ready to be served.
